We are a small band from Hanover, Indiana. We are all 15 & 16 years old and we like to play anything from a slow acoustic song to metal. We are currently in the recording stage for our new album. We have the first song from the new album on here for download along with one from the old album that will be re-done for the new album.
Band/artist history
2002 After a Creed concert in August, Dylan tells Evan that he wants to start a band called, Final Notice. Evan thinks it's a great idea and the positions for them were made very quickly, Evan - lead vocals, Dylan - lead guitar. They didn't really do anything until October when they asked Zach Lee to become the bassist. He accepts but later declines, so they then ask Matt Clark and he accepts and starts to play bass for the band. Than in early November Ryan Leach is asked to become the drummer. Clayton Jackson is added as a second drummer, but than later becomes percussion (would've also been turntables if he could've gotten the equipment). In December Evan gets his first electric guitar and the band had him as lead singer, rhythm guitarist. 2003 There isn't any talk, but some small talk about the band doing anything until early February when they decide to get together and practice. They meet at Ryan's house, playing "Brain Stew" by Green Day with their own twist and "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple. They recorded their Brain Stew version and handed some copies out to some friends and received positive feedback. They then decided to keep this thing going and Dylan and Evan quickly started to write some songs. Their first song ever "Awaken" was not such a great song, but was the base for their writings soon to come. In about March or April the positions for Evan and Dylan switch and Dylan becomes lead singer, guitar and Evan is lead guitar, vocals. Than, after an assignment in English to write you own poem, Matt gave Evan and Dylan the poem and told them to see if they could get something going with it. They did and it becomes "Wingless Angel Part II" (just "Wingless Angel" at the time). In June at Dylan's birthday party the band plays and performs "Awaken", "Final Notice" (chorus riff only), "All My Life" - Foo Fighters, "Smoke on the Water" - Deep Purple, "Brain Stew" - Green Day, "One" & "Enter Sandman" - Metallica, and "The Middle" - Jimmy Eat World. Than in late June Dylan and Evan go over to Curtis Perry's house (Evan's older sisters, Sarah, ex-boyfriends house) to record "Wingless Angel" and "Awaken." To lack of time they only got "Wingless Angel" done with guitar and vocals. With lack of time to record with the whole band and with Curtis nothing more was ever recorded and the small demo is yet to be heard from. Than on the 23, Trevor surprises the band with the website and Evan quickly confirms the information and the first update is made later that night. Than in August, the band is asked to play at Lindsey Gassert's birthday party. They accept, but later have problems. Ryan breaks his wrist in a four wheeler accident and Matt can't show because of football practice. They than have Clayton step in as the drummer and Trevor also helps drum a little. The party ends up in disaster with the band only being able to play "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC and a little bit of "Final Notice". Nothing really happens until October when the band hears of the losses of Mr. Means' (art teacher) wife and Haley Pedigo's (Evan's ex-girlfriend) mother in the same night. Evan quickly starts writing music for a song dedicated to them and the band has practice two days later to practice it. They record and let only a couple people listen to it with positive feedback again. Then band gets Fall Break the next week and decide to have practice at Evan's. They have Trevor play the bass for them and don't even ask Clayton to come for lack of not having an instrument to play. They write four songs and practice "Wingless Angel" in just one night and after being very excited by this recorded them on a tape again and let people listen with positive feedback again. Dylan and Evan than writing as fast as they can to get some more material. On November 7 the band practices in Dylan's garage with the absence of Trevor. They play for a few of their friends that live in Dylan's neighborhood and get more positive feedback. On the ninth the band practices at Evan's with everyone there. A few days later Dylan's mom, Bonnie, tells the band that she knows of a place they could record for $25 an hour in Hanover. The band then has Bonnie talk to Mike Gray and has her set up a date for the band to record. She sets up the date for November 15. The band than practices one more time on the 14 to make sure they have everything down good for the recording. On the 15 the band goes to 138Studio and record the demo, "Chain Reaction" in four hours for $100. The band gets the final copies about a week later and start to pass them around school with getting more positive feedback. Than when Dylan and Evan go to their guitar lessons on the 22, Scott Caudill of Mom's Music tells them that he has a small record company called Carmel Road Records and would like to be part of it. Than when Evan goes in to get his lesson, Jimmi Davis his guitar teacher tells him that he will sign them up for Battle of the Bands in the summer at the regatta. The band decides to start the C.D. in December and ask Mike for the dates. On December 12 the band goes to Clarksville to celebrate Ryan's birthday. They eat at Texas Roadhouse and then shop in Greentree Mall and go to the store Raz Mittaz where they are accused of loitering and treated like thieves. The band now boycotts Raz Mittaz and asks everyone to boycott them also for bad treatment to customers. We instead say go to Hot Topic where they are friendly to you and know how to treat customers. Than on the 13 there is practice for the recording for their C.D., "With Strong Hands." On the 14 they go to recording and complete "Chain Reaction", "Eviction", "Final Notice", "Wingless Angel", "With Strong Hands", and the hidden track, "Final Notice" acoustically. On the 20 what was hoped to be the last recording turned out to be a bad one. The band finishes "For The" with surprising results, but while trying to record "Wingless Angel Part II" (which is no longer on the C.D.), Ryan has to leave because of a band concert. The rest of the band then goes back and fixes the other songs already recorded. Than while Evan is in L.A. he is searching the web for some bands that are going to play at The Whiskey a Go Go and he comes upon a site called soundlcik where bands can let people download their music. Evan then starts a page for the band where you can now download songs. 2004 On January 1 the band goes to Evan's house for one more practice before the last recording. They all end up staying the night; therefore they make a documentary of the band, which will hopefully be able to be put on a site or something so you all can see. The next day, the band goes to the studio to record. Since we had problems with "Wingless Angel Part II" we decide to drop the song, but did manage to get "No Matter", an old version of "Tortured Feelings", and "Blind" recorded. Mike then told us that C.D. should be complete is a week. The band then waits until the 8 when they receive three copies of the final cut. They take it to school the next day and play it for one of their classes and they receive positive feedback. Then on the 9 the band finds some problems with songs that Dylan wrote, where they sound too similar to other songs so they go back to the studio. On the 18th goes and records a new version of "Final Notice" and then "Believe". They also decide to record "Wingless Angel" over again. On the 26th Dylan and Evan go back and fix a few songs before the C.D. is completed. Then finally on the 31st the band gets the complete C.D. from Mike. On February 9 the band gets 8 copies of the C.D. from Scott Caudill to give to their families. Then on the 11th the band has an interview with Jenny Jones from The Madison Courier. On the 19th the article appears in the paper with many new people now knowing of the band. Then Evan receives 50 copies of the C.D. that day and start selling them on their Soundclick website. On March 4th the band orders 25 more copies of the C.D.'s and have only sold about 40 copies up to that time. On the 6th the band is confirmed to open the show on March 27th at Jaycee's but with the absence of Trevor since he was going to be in California. The other three band members practice hard to get ready for their first public show with Dylan filling in on bass. On the 27th Dylan and Evan are told by Ryan's father that he cannot play because his sister is supposed to have a baby that night. Dylan then finds a replacement drummer from Indianapolis named Scotty. He learns the songs for that night as best as he can and saves the band's first gig from going down. Although Evan and Dylan are a little disappointed by their performance many people thought they did great with what happened especially! Then on the 31st, after a few days of talk, the band officially kicks Ryan Leach out of the band for lack of commitment and not being able to rely on. On April 2nd the band asks Zach Lock to become the new drummer of the band. On April 4th the band has its first practice with Zach. The band then starts working hard on songs for their new album. On Easter Sunday on April 11th the band appears on the House of Hits Radio show on 96.7 for a one hour interview. The interview goes great and some more people learn of Final Notice that haven't before and get to hear of their plans. Evan e-mails Mike Gray of 138 studios a few days later asking for some recording dates. Finally on the 22nd the band gets some recording dates for their small demo due out in June or July.
