"The 52nd Street Planetary Ensemble is a free-form improvisation project born out of Philadelphia, PA. Conceived by Ihba Baskette, this collective brings together a talented group of musicians from the improvisation community who share a passion for creative expression. The ensemble includes Ryoko on Alto (saxophone and percussion), Sequoyah Leaf (clarinet), Thomas Patteson (alto saxophone and synths), Zoe McDonald (guitar and drums), Jason Das (cello, guitar, and drums),Tommy Hagen on Drums,Chip Schwartz (percussion and trumpet), and Mark Brown (tenor and alto saxophone). Weekly residency sessions at the University of Pennsylvania's Rotunda have fostered a unique sound that blends diverse perspectives and instrumentation, creating a truly planetary experience."
