Fertile Reality

Fertile Reality was founded in 1994 in a youth centre/club in Lisse, The Netherlands. The band evolved from industrial and psychedelic to moody pop, wave, indie and postrock. Exciting darker pop tunes and experimental tracks can be expected.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
1998: ep 'Micro' recorded in The Doomsday Reflex Studio, Lisse, by Niels Lefeber. 5 Tracks. One of them made it to national radio. Eighties influenced pop and some slower moody tracks. 2000: album 'The Longfield Battle'. Nice collection of postrock, wave, gothic and indie. 2004: Release of 'The Dune Of The Mill' and more and more attention from media and clubs.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not regularly but we try to play live couple of times a year. Concerts now take place everywhere in the Netherlands (and Luxemburg). In the past we sometimes were supported by slideshows and we would like to pick that aspect up again some time.
Your musical influences
Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, Swans in the beginning. Later on more Wire, Joy Division, New Order, Artsen, Television, Interpol and various indie and postrock.
What equipment do you use?
Just the usual stuff four a five piece band and as far as the recording's concerned...the equipment from Kratarknathrak (see elsewhere in the community) was used.
Anything else?
Fertile Reality never killed their brains covering blues or rock tunes. The always tried to come up with their own songs. They've worked their way up in a relaxed mood without stress. It's a hobby, however an important one. So we'll keep it up the next years.
