Federal Yellow
Federal Yellow hails from Burlington Ontario. Formed in 1998 by Jim McLean(g),Paul Anderson(v),Paul Butcher(b),and Stuart Smith on drums,to be replaced by Jay Prentice.
Focusing on original material and developing our style was/is our prime motivator. Our style has been described as Deep Purple meets Pink Floyd. Although when we write a new song and we believe in it ,to us it doesn't matter what style it's in.
A good song is a good song.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Current lineup: Paul Anderson:Vocals/Keys
Jim McLean :Guitars
Butch :Bass
Marsh Wilkinson :Drums
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We love playing to an audience. We love the energy and the freedom to improvise on the fly. We gig around southern Ontario when we can. We've been fortunate to play some summer music festivals and cool venues including headlining a show at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto.
Your musical influences
Everything from Deep Purple to Allman Brothers to Pink Floyd to modern rock of today....
Anything else?
If you like what you hear drop us a line and tell us what's on your mind
. We are currently recording our next album. Our new album will have a more live feel to it . Stay tuned for new tunes when their available.Soon!
