Faulty Family

Faulty Family Records presents upcoming rap artists; Weezy, Hogg, Mickey P, QP, Jackpot, MGK, Pigtaktix from the YAY AREA, and Southwest Mafia out in da Pheonix, Arizona. Faulty Family Records resides in Santa Rosa, CA with a local recording studio where hits are made from the hi hat down to the vocals. All production is done here with local talent from the Bay Area. We stay true to the Bay and it comes out in our music. Real life and experiences show within the lyrics of every song. If you can't say that you can relate to our music then we won't put it out there.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Faulty Family Records has been creating music for over 5 years now. We began in a rec room in a house in the cuts with a crappy computer, a cheap keyboard, and a buy one get one free mike. Now we got our own studio, label, and artists. It takes a while but you want quality not a half done cd that will just get thrown away.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We love small venues, but are always looking for big ones too. With house parties you get a real close atmosphere and can have fun with your crowd.
Your musical influences
One of the biggest musical influences is Mac Dre. He put it down for the Bay real big. (RIP Mac Dre you are missed)Cougnut and Tupac (RIP to the both of you, real playas of the rap game) are also two of our biggest infulences. They repped the Bay in a way no one could. And Tupac's lyrics could mesmorize anyone. I could keep going all day with all the Bay Area artists, but I think I'll stop there.
What equipment do you use?
We use it all. Currently in the studio is the Motif ES, mo phatt, mpc2000xl, korg micro controller, yahama dgx 500 88 keys, dsp c-port 2000, AMD 3.5 ghz dual processors computer, Oktavia mic, beringer 32 channel mixing board, cubase sx, pro tools, dsp multieffect processor, reason 2.5, 7 gigs of samples, technics 1200 turntables, fostex pm5 powered moniters, fender strat guitar, rogue 5 string bass, a ton of mastering suites, and vst's. and a bunch of time
Anything else?
