Father Badass and Willy
Our band was formed for one reason, to compose the theme song for "Father Badass and Willy". The show was a pilot, shot for NBC in 1980, to be aired in the 1981-1982 television season.
The network passed on our show, opting instead to go with something called "Hill Street Blues". What a mistake that obviously turned out to be.
Our show was a weekly hour long drama featuring a former priest turned detective (Father "Badass" Makris) who liked to do things his way, much to the chagrin of his boss, Captain Ed MacGillicudy.
Willy was the sassy, street-smart black kid who, through a series of events, became Father Badass' partner. Together the two learned about life while kicking crime in the gut.
The pilot was destroyed by the network and no video footage of it remains. All that's left is this theme song, which I've digitally remastered.
