Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Described by various reviewers as a group which “sets lyrics like stream-of consciousness poetry over twangy riffs with a boiling rhythm section,” Eyelash has created a new template for female-fronted rock bands by adding a multi-cultural and multi-influenced twist to their music.On their first EP “The Cover-Up,” Eyelash unleashes a flurry of hypnotic grooves and buzz-saw guitars, creating a dark urban landscape combining hard rock, punk and heavy metal grooves, combining the . Eyelash’s lyrics provide biting commentary on topics such as sexual obsession, religion, politics and celebrity culture. Eyelash’s music was also featured on the compilation cd, “Audio Venus, Vol. 1” and in the Fall 2003 issue of Lollipop magazine. Eyelash’s latest EP, Uses of Disorder, will be released in the summer of 2004.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Most gigs are in the Northeast U.S. region. Interesting as well. Special moments? Our very first show at a performing arts space, where everyone was piss drunk (open bar, what do you expect) and heckling the audience.
