Band/artist history
Spawned from the ashes of the band PUTRILAGE, EXULCERATE began in June 2003 by vocalist, Aaron Mendiola and bassist, Eddie Blanquiz. The next person added to the line-up was guitarist, Angel Tarin from the band DISEMBOWEL. The line-up was then rounded out by drummer, Lee Eubanks. They began writing material and only after 4 months in existence they played their first gig as the opening band on an all day Death Fest, which included '03's Bloodletting North America's line-up of PYAEMIA, SEVERED SAVIOR, SPAWN OF POSSESSION, & GORGASM. Soon after this gig, in December '03, EXULCERATE entered a local studio to record their first demo which was titled "Samples of Sickness". Weeks later, ex-RUPTURE CHRIST guitarist, Ryan Varville moved to San Antonio, TX and got in touch with the band. Ryan's addition gave the band a fuller sound, and another song writer. Ryan also added more vocal variety to the band. Now as a 5 piece band they changed or dropped older material and began writing new tunes. After a couple of more gigs under their belt, they felt that there was a lack of dedication on drummer, Lee Eubank's part. He was let go from the band in February 2004. Only days after, EXULCERATE found a replacement in Dennis Sanders from the band MORTALITY. This addition gave EXULCERATE a new jumpstart, as Dennis' skills were greater than expected. All the music they had was revamped. With this new line-up, EXULCERATE wrote more material and played a few more gigs, which included a 3 day tour with DEAD FOR DAYS, and FLESHGRIND. These gigs turned out to be a huge success, as FLESHGRIND vocalist and head United Guttural Records approached and offered EXULCERATE a record contract. With this great news on their minds, the music writing and seriousness of this band became a lot stronger. Once again though, they were plagued with line-up trouble. Original member, bassist, Eddie Blanquiz focused more of his time to his job, so it gave him less time to be with the band. We was let go from the band in May 2004. In August 2004, a new bassist was found. His name is Matt Hernandez, also of the band MORTALITY. He has been friends with the members of EXULCERATE for quite some time now, so he fit right in during his tryouts. So far this line-up is the most talented and dedicated group. EXULCERATE is now concentrating on getting Matt up to speed on all the songs, and at the same time giving these songs one final tune-up. Later this year, EXULCERATE will be searching for a studio to record their debut CD for United Guttural Records. The CD will be titled "Remnants of a Cannibalistic Debauchery", and will contain 13 songs. In early 2005 a tour will hopefully be booked to promote this CD. EXULCERATE was formed to create extreme fuckin Death Metal...period...end of story. Any questions?
