Evilution is a new experimental form of alternative hip hop. we started out raw with just basement skillz and beats. Then we took it to more of a new school sound. Then added live drums and guitar (Aaron Kronus, Sony, Canada)to give it more of a rock edge. The project is being headed up by Chester Benington (Linkin Park), producer Frankie Biggz (Universal, managers Brad and Jackie Kallen (Galaxy Management), and rapper/vocalist John Smiddy aka Evilution. Evilution is also backed by scratch artist and beat maker Dan Norrod aka SUPERNATURAL, and hype man Dan Smiddy aka DAMN SHITTY, all former members of LAKE AFX and 86 District Emcees. All hailing from Michigan. We hope you enjoy. All feedback, good or bad is greatly appreciated. We want to know what your take is on this project and if you would like to see us live. Let us know where you live and the best venue in your areah!Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes we love to play live and are looking forward to more upcoming shows here in Detroit! However the studio is our main focus. With the development of a new sound, we want to be totally confident with it before we bring it to a club near you.
Your musical influences
My influenes go all the way back to the early days of 2 Live Crew and NWA but I didn't start rappin' until I heard Wu-Tang Clan. I was like 16. They came out banging and the shit was truly inspirational. At the same time I was really feelin' Zack DeLaroacha and Rage Against The Machine. My other influences are Gang Starr, Redman, Keith Murray, Eric Sermon...alot of east coast stuff.What equipment do you use?

We are currently gearing up to hit the studio with Detroit band "Mind Candy" to do some sound track work for UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship.)
