Everliven Sound
We’ve all been there the flyer for the show says doors open at 8 and show starts at 9. It is now 11: 23 and the irritable crowd is beginning to get restless and either out loud or in their heads are saying this show had better be worth the wait. Just then two men who seem to be glowing with positive energy pass though the crowd and take the stage. “Are ya’ll ready for some real Hip Hop?” The clarity and unique voices of the men on stage immediately draw the attention of every being in the room and the now anxious crowd moves forward and replies, “yeah!” The show starts and heads begin to nod.
Their music makes them immortal therefore their Sound is Everliven. Group emcees also producers Skit Slam and Cymarshall Law are brothers born from Jamaican parents, but born themselves in the United Kingdom; making the transition to New Jersey in 1990 in search of greater opportunities. With the influence of legendary reggae artist and souls destined for Hip Hop greatness Everliven made a mark for themselves throughout the Tri-State area as some of the best and most professional performers around. Holding a vision of International Hip Hop the duo intend on bringing countries together though music, seeing the rapid growth of appreciation of Hip Hop overseas. After appearing on The Scienz of Life 12” single Nine Ether Remix (Bobbito’s Fondle ‘Em Records) and the S.O.L. album Coming Forth by Day (Subverse Music) in 2000 Everliven Sound released their first single on Subverse Music a label began by Big Juss of the legendary underground crew Company Flow. The single was a National college radio favorite according to record reports in Insomniac Magazine. In 2001 the buzz continued as the brothers began their own record label appropriately titled Freedom Entertainment after their fathers once feared English Sound Set that had specialized in reggae dub plates. The first release on their new venture would be an 8 song vinyl Ep titled EVERLution. Self produced with the exception of ID4Windz (Scienz of Life) making one track and NY underground veteran Pumpkinhead featuring on another. The group only pressed 500 copies for promotional use and it worked opening them up to grace stages worldwide, throughout the US and Europe. Most recently group member Skit Slam has recorded a full length album titled Higher Forces with Phi-Life Cypher, a group that many regard as England’s best. The album will be released late 2003 on English label Zebra Traffic. The single for the album “Over” was released in February 2003 and has been subject to nothing less than outstanding reviews. Everliven Sound represent a change in Hip Hop that will stay for a very long time, they make you love the music again and remember why you wanted to be a B-Boy or Girl in the first place. Everyone feels the change coming to Hip Hop. It is Everliven, words can’t describe, but if you hear the Sound you catch the vibe. "- Provided By Marshall LawBand/artist history
