Evasyd
Evasyd is made up of Syd Locklear and his son, Raccoon. Putting different musical talents together often results with an eccentric outcome, and so it is with Evasyd.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Syd Locklear has worked for many years throughout his life as a greatly talented musician. Having worked with numerous bands and recorded countless songs in his apartment studio, he now resides in Georgia with his wife, Merlin, and newest daughter Sara. Syd plays a variety of instruments ranging from the keyboard to the guitar.
Raccoon Locklear is yet another young, aspiring musician among the many that there are in the world. But he takes his music very seriously, and from five years of playing experience, has joined with his father to bond through creating songs with him. Raccoon plays the electric guitar and some percussion that may be heard in later songs.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
At the moment, we are strictly studio.
Your musical influences
Dream Theater, The Doors, Jordan Rudess and The Dixie Dregs.
What equipment do you use?
We use two keyboards, a Yamaha and some other Japanese-made off-brand one. Raccoon uses a seven string Ibanez and a standard electric Kramer (though this varies), and the guitars are just plugged into the mixer for extra effects without the hassle of lugging an amplifier into the studio. Percussion is done mainly on the keyboard, but we are also looking for an opportunity to use some acoustic drums.
