New Age

I am E qou'ni Wah'ya I play the Native American Flute, I also sing in the same context. I have been playing for nine years and i have made two unpublished CDs. I play this music because it is apart of my family history. According to my Father and my Grandmother I am descended from Cherokee and Chocktaw tribes. I play because I feel a connection to this world and it's beauty. I play from my heart, My music speaks of nature and life. People that listen find my music soothing, and soft. I worry when I play in public if I am bothering others, yet I have no complaints as of yet only compliments. My hope for those that listen are that for one moment they can have an escape from this busy life on Earth, one can find peace and enjoy a little piece of my heart.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I am a member of two flute Circle groups in my area. The "Spring Cypress Native American Flute Circle" And the Greater Houston Native American Flute Circle. We play at live events. I am a new member and I will be playing for the first time to a gathered audiance on Oct. 7 2006 at Bear Creek Park in Houston. Then again in November at Armand Bayou in Pasadena Texas for their Fall Festival. The last live event will be in December at the Houston Heritage Festival Downtown.
Your musical influences
I am into all things Native American, My music releives stress, promotes peace, is off the cuff and from the heart, it requires no formal music instruction, unless you want to learn sheet music. My influences are great artists from Voices across the canyon, Shenandoah, and Walela. I am most influencd by my own heart.
What equipment do you use?
