Hey there!! We are a true school Hip Hop group. We believe in the culture of Hip Hop. Our focus is rap and djing but we are big supporters of Graffti art and Breakdancing. We have been together since 1994 and have never tried to conform with pop songs or whatever is current. We have always made what was in our hearts. That in our opinion is the true nature of music.
Band/artist history
Rough and smooth, Conscience and fun, hip hop soul...These are just some of the words that have been used to describe the Hip Hop collective known as Endangered Species. The 3 mc's and 1 dj title may have been used by the Beatstie boys but ES has brought their own twist to the name. Dipped in old school Hip Hop with new school attitude the ES team has brought a stand out stage show that few rival. The bouncy rhythms of Dj Ricochet and back and forth rhymes of Elevation, B-vax and Nocturne keep the viewing crowd on a musical roller coaster with smoothed out gems such as "Soul brothas" and "Natural Groove" (W/ Steph Starr) or rebel rousing tunes such as "Last stand@the Alamo." Together since the mid- nineties Endangered have made it their main objective to focus on what feels true to themselves. The concept of "new is always good" is absurd to them. There is a respect for all artist but the notion of spewing untold tales of negative behavior won't be found on this disc from this quartet. Hip Hop is a culture world wide and ES wants the music to reach all ears not just a select few. Entertaining crowds from 8-80 have brought many working opportunites to work with or open for such strong talents such as Common, Too $hort, Spq'her, Dynamic Vibartions, knomadz, Iomos Marad, Mr. Greenweedz, Gq the teacher, KRS-1, Earatik Statik, Verbal Kent, Rusty Chains, Longshot, Steph Staa, DjSp1, Digable Planets, Urbanized Music and most recently Hip Hop legend Kool Herc. The road has begining to open up for ES so check your local Hip Hop spots for us.
