Empress Touch

A failed protest-song singer/songwriter/producer, who has since been focusing on completing an original artist album, expressing influences from electro-pop futurism, gritty industrial, uplifting, euphoric trance and anything in-between.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I only have three years of occasional studio visits, with a years part-time study of basic music technology. I consider myself to be a much more experienced and talented music listener than musician.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
No. I'm only a DJ in my dreams at this moment in time.
Your musical influences
Primarily Depeche Mode, Jean Michel Jarre, Simple Minds, a-ha, Talk Talk, Ultravox, New Order, Duran Duran and those who shared the enthusiasm of making the most of exciting music technology. Almost equally more recent artists who also share the desire of using great art in many ways, whether that be communicating creative, yet significant subject matter or simply praising good and steering from the foreseeably-wrong. I am influenced by far more than just music. Any artist who strives to make creative art with the intention of giving us all something of genuine meaning and substance. In other words: a purist in the belief that "There's only two types of music, so make the most of your chance to offer something unique from your heart and conscience...".
What equipment do you use?
One gentleman, a PC and more than one version of Cubase 2005-2014.
Anything else?
I enjoy watching many sports and search for quality new or classic music Ive yet to hear. I have a passion for recycling what can sensibly be re-used or retrieved from waste - something that's getting surprisingly easier by the day. I'm also a keen cook, for friends and family. But don't expect to see me on Come Dine With Me.
