Inhale the electrons from deep within and express the reverse-engineered memory.
Band/artist history
From the simple beauty of solo piano and the delicious unintelligibility of the electro-acoustic experimental style, to the sonic intricacies of modern electronica and the seductive logic of Baroque music, Emlyn's interest in diverse musical idioms affords him a brush for many canvases. He has scored for theatre, film, and television, using the strengths of a variety of media, including instrumental and choral ensembles, voice, acoustic and electronic instruments, and digital audio. In 1999 Emlyn completed the Cube Matrix (http://www.emlynellisaddison.com/cube_matrix/), an analytical study exploring the symmetrical music matrix and its relationship to the surfaces of a three-dimensional object. He is currently developing the libretto and score for Helia Rising, an opera exploring the people and events leading to the development of the first atomic bomb (http://www.emlynellisaddison.com/helia_rising/). Emlyn was born in 1972 in Somerset West, South Africa, and later moved to Brussels, Belgium where he lived for five years. His interest in music took root in 1988. After emigrating to the United States he began his studies in music at Glendale Community College (1990-1993) and received a Bachelor of Music degree in music theory and composition from the Arizona State University School of Music (1993-1995). Emlyn completed his graduate studies in music composition and new media at the California Institute of the Arts (1996-1998) which steered him towards new realizations of artistic expression. Emlyn lives in Providence, Rhode Island. http://www.emlynellisaddison.com
