The philosophy of Ellington Street started out as a motto: "Good enough to play for a living, but smart enough not to."
Ellington Street started as a forum for local jazz composers that did something other than music for a living - a place where composers could have their material played live by other musicians.
Eventually, Ellington Street coalesced into a solid core of 4 musicians forming the basis of our sound and style - Latin jazz, jazz fusion, smooth jazz, acid jazz and be-bop.Have you performed in front of an audience?Ellington is primarily a writing/recording project, however we take Ellington out for a club date or two every now and then.
Your musical influences
The guitarist: Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Allen Holdsworth, Frank Gambale
The drummer: Vinnie Caleutta, Dave Garribaldi
The Keyboardist: David Benoit, Rippingtons, Joe SampleWhat equipment do you use?
Hmmm... What don't we use? (we have real jobs that pay real money that afford all the toys)
We tell our wives, "It's only paper until you spend it!"Anything else?
"Those that would sacrifice freedom for security, deserve neither." - Ben FranklinOne more thing. I will invite you to look at a music forum www.clubchops.com
This is a forum of musicians like us, in which we exchange music and much more.
Cheers,
