Elite Team
Who always stands apart from the average? Who are the most skilled members of a given social group? Its the Elite.... but more specifically its Cleveland's newest hip-hop phenomenon. With Elite Team Records storming its way onto the scene in less than 5 months, street stardom is certainly soon to turn to commercial success. With the merger of some of Cleveland's finest emcees, and two locally successful album releases in 5 months, the only thing thats in question is which national label wants to be a part of the Elite.
Comprised of Super Lyrical talents such as, B.Jizzo (co-CEO) a.k.a. Snake Eyes,Lil Eaz, Mr. Grimm and Hollywood; partnered with the beats of brothers Trigga Play and A.Geez(co-CEO), the recipe often swithces but the meal prepared still brings the taste the audience craves. Whether solo, paired off, or in full compilation clique mode the group, time in and time out, shows why the label and crew garners such a prestigious name. With the streets still buzzing off the debut release "Spittin' Dat Izm" and it's killer follow up "Live From the 216" the demand for the first group release "Peace of Mind" ( Jizzo, Eaz and Hollywood) has potential to cause damage on a large scale.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Originally Elite Team consisted of brothers Bryan Jolly (co-CEO) and Charles Thomas (co-CEO). It got it's start in '99 with Jolly doing all the emceeing but miminal progress happened. Then in the fall of 2001 Jolly snatched up childhood friend and producer Aaron Gamble (A.Geez co-CEO) and refocused on the game. Bringing in other talent such as Lil' Eaz, Mr.Grim, Hollywood and producer Trigga Play (Gamble's brother) the label has dropped two independant albums that our banging on the streets. With the group putting in at least 10hrs a day in the studio the focus and hunger is gone bring big success very soon...
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live as often as we can.. Usually when we get together we're trying to make more new material, but when we perform its usually at talent shows and showcases.. At one particular showcase give by Undercover Records, we completely took over the 1000 person crowd, and this is when we first started, so now you know its crazy...
Your musical influences
We get our influences from cats like Jigga, Outkast, Ludacris, 3 six, Killa Cam and Twista. Business wise though its cats like Diddy and Russell and Master P that we pay close attention to..
What equipment do you use?
Man Acid is the joint... We use other ish too, but Acid started it for us... If you put time in on it, it will do everything the real equipment will do, patience is a virtue...
