Band/artist history
Originally formed as UK Alternative. Bomb squad and Lawrence tried combining traditional song writing structures of Indie with the new sound of the UK dance scene.
They produced a couple of local successes with hits like "telling you", "mile in another mans socks" and the underground smash "Six meal weekender" - you can still hear tick girls singing that in the pub on a Saturday afternoon.
After a sell out gig at Waitrose car park followed by a headline set at John Nashs' yard, UK Alternative managed to secure a slot playing the closing day of Glastonbury. However, despite the great vibe and excellent performance one thing was lacking.....a crowed.
UK Alternative decided enough was enough and split. After that Bomb squad spent some time as a headline MC at Dan Nation and Lawrence became Marma. They got back together and with the help of DJ latts, formed Elephant Tranquillizer, the baddest hip-hop band ever!
Songs were created on a four track recording device in Ange and Steves' office. It wasn't long before the high demand for these early recordings forced Elephant tranquillizer into the studio where with the help of Producer John, their album 4-2-4 fall to floor was cut.
