"...ELEPHANT DRIVER lies somewhere in the middle of the melodic virtues of pop and the hard core angst of alternative rock. And inbetween you find the distinctive styles of three very talented newcomers." -by Janis Tate http://www.indiemusicexplosion.comBand/artist history
elephant driver is eric bridge, matt campbell, and bob king.
These three first shared the stage as members of the horn section of the high school jazz ensemble. Matt (bass) and Eric (guitar) had been playing rock and roll together for several years before drummer Bob King rounded out the line-up. The group's first performances were at 'open mic nite' at Hennesey's Pub in Morristown, NJ. Matt played sax and sang (not at the same time), eric played acoustic guitar, and bob played djembe or tamborine or tin can or whatever. This is the venue where the trio debued their earliest original material. Since then, they’ve developed their originial rock from Jersey City sound playing venues like Arlene Grocery, The Elbow Room, CBGB’s, The Baggott Inn, Acme Underground, The Love Sexy, and others in the Metropolitan area. In 2001 e.d. released a cd independently. The nine (9) song collection entitled 'URBANIZED' was the group's first significant recording endeavor. The release of 'Fly Away' marks the second and "Pop Star" is the third and latest.Have you performed in front of an audience? We play live. We play where they want to hear live music. We seem to like it after many years of doing it.

Hey you guys! Good to see you here on Soundclick. You'll like it here. I was checking out Fly Away. I've got a song yet to be recorded by the same tittle. I really like yalls sound and I love the lead vocals. I think that I told you that already. Nice melody on this. I hope that you're going to put Pop Star on here as well. Thanks for your input on my song. It's greatly appreciated. I've got songs to cover almost every genre from folk to pop to country to rap to my favorite of all....ROCK. You're right...my voice is best suited for rock and country as well. I'm trying to get a message out and you gotta reach each person on their own level....thus the different types of genres that I'll be recording. I'll let you know when I get something else done. I'm lacking funds at the moment....but all in due time. Ya'll keep up the good work and let me know when you get soemthing else up. God bless and thanks again! Love and Peace, Beth
