Eddie Buzzard

Eddie Buzzard's music is an intricate combination of shear testosterone-driven brutality, complicated rhythmic technicality, screaming honesty, and soaring melodic truth. The band's first effort is a testament to the potential of Eddie Buzzard, and enhances upon the proud metal traditions of such bands as Slayer, Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Sepultura and more, giving a unique Midwestern twist to the genre, and providing much-needed stylistic innovation as well. Set to take over the world, this is Eddie Buzzard.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Eddie Buzzard originally formed in early 2003, when former childhood friends Kylie Furgeson and Adam Welper met to jam at a broken down house in Waterloo. Furgeson introduced Welper to Chris Burks. Berks and Welper clicked immediately and began writing music. Furgeson left the group soon afterwards. Welper, the experienced drummer, laid down blistering double-bass beats, and Berks complimented these through lightning fast riffs and complicated grooves. As the two developed the music that would become Eddie Buzzard, they expanded the search to complete the lineup. Not settling for any old hack from the streets, the two auditioned several guitarists before hitting upon Aaron Harken. The unique and intricate style of the music attracted Harken, and he was quickly accepted into the fold. The songs went through some major revision, improving with each month. Soon, the band was ready to audition bass players. Many auditioned, but only one stood out. Dave Sabin joined the group in late 2003, setting down the thick bass groove that, with Welper's drumming, defines Eddie Buzzard's rhythm section today. With the lineup nearly complete, the band searched for a vocalist. Once again, the auditions were fiercely competitive. The burgeoning band had difficulty finding the correct combination of vocal aggression and eye-popping melody that they needed to complete their sound. Finally, it came down to two. The first was Corey, who sang for two gigs with Eddie Buzzard before being replaced by Jack in Jan. 2004. With the addition of Jack Viers, the lineup was fully completed. Within a month, the band was playing shows and exciting audiences inside of Waterloo, IA. In order to get their music heard by all, the band self-recorded their demo at their own FEAR Studios in Waterloo, with Jack at the controls. With a fine recording in hand, Eddie Buzzard is set to kick ass and take names all across existence.
