Eclipsing Nightmare was started in the summer of 2004 as a solo project by C. Ophion Fletcher. After several albums, EPs and a couple of demos, Ophion put the project to rest in Oct. 2012. In Oct. 2013, he announced the return of Eclipsing Nightmare as a full band with a new style. Stay tuned, and beware!!
Band/artist history
C. Ophion Fletcher began writing electronic music with Fruity Loops 3 back in 2004. After a year, he started getting serious about the project and released the debut "Amongst the Swarm" album in Sept. 2005. The only single from the album was "Graveyard Lust," which tore up the charts on websites like garageband.com and soundclick.com to name a couple.
In 2007, Ophion released the "Twilight Autopsy" EP, and then the 2008 Demo the following year. In 2009, he experimented with the sound a little and released the "Web of Horror" album and the "Phantom of the Sky" demo, both in April 2009. There were only 100 copies of the demo, which were given out for free to the first 100 people who ordered the "Web of Horror" album. There was also an album released in late 2009, titled "Sleeping With Insects." This album was mostly made up of songs that were written in 2007 and 2008, and were intended to be released as a full-length album, but Ophion was not happy with most of the songs and only put out the songs on the demo that year, as well as the "Twilight Autopsy" EP. These leftover songs plus a few new songs made up the "Sleeping With Insects" album.
2010 was a busy year for Eclipsing Nightmare, releasing two brand new albums; "Realm of Lost Souls," and "Curse of the Lycan Moon," as well as a greatest hits album ("Greatest shits vol. 1") that came out later in the year. "Curse of the Lycan Moon" was voted #1 album that year by a few websites, and it is Ophion's favorite Eclipsing Nightmare album to date.
2011 was an even busier year for Eclipsing Nightmare. There were 2 albums ("Lost Tracks vol. 1" and "Lost Tracks vol. 2") released that consisted of songs written mostly in 2009 and 2010, and were on a computer belonging to one of Ophion's friends. This friend e-mailed the tracks to Ophion in 2011, and he released them on these two albums. Eclipsing Nightmare also released a split album ("Eclipsing Nightmare vs Atomic Bums") in 2011. Atomic Bums is an electronic/experimental project that Ophion had been doing for a while. There were two full-length albums released in 2011 as well; "Ophion Strikes Back," and an EP titled "Neverending Nightmare."
2012 was a slower year for the project. In Feb., the "Greatest Shits vol. 2" album was released. "The Final Ritual" album was releases Halloween night 2012. Shortly after it's release, Ophion announced that Eclipsing Nightmare would be no more, but that he was releasing a box set at the end of the year. The box set came out in December, and it contained every Eclipsing Nightmare album (minus the two "Greatest Shits" albums), a poster, a patch, 2 stickers (2 different designs) and a guitar pick. RIP Eclipsing Nightmare!!!
UPDATE: October 2013 - Ophion has decided to start Eclipsing Nightmare back up! This will no longer be a solo project, and the musical style will be much different. There will be actual instruments this time around, and vocals as well. Stay tuned!!!
