Band/artist history
I played a cello for orchestra in 4th grade and I kicked ass at it even though I was too lazy to show up for competitions and my teacher would get mad at me but eh owell. I then lost interest in musical instruments until fall of 2003. A guy named Eric Edwin came up to me and said he wanted to start a band and I told him id wana be in it and ill play bass for you. So then the next day or 2 i went out to the closest music store with a little bit of money. Not knowing what kind of bass guitar to get, I asked for a good beginner bass guitar and the guy showed me to an Ibanez which costed about $112. I took it and went out the next day to get an amp from a pawn shop. Once I had my little gear, we went to Eric's garage and jammed out though I never played a bass in my life it was worth a try and the time I was into the bassist Fieldy from Korn. I picked up a couple of tips here and there from a guitar player named Paul and also from a great screamer Chris. I then bought my first 5-string Ibanez, which was a nice bass. We didnt make it too long and only made 2 songs that were very well unfinished and I still have those 2 pieces. We would practice here and then but it soon became that I was being left out. I practiced on my own just about every night I got the chance to. I was listening to Tool a lot on my time and got into there bassist and so I learned some Tool songs. Justin Chancellor and Ex-Tool Bassist Paul D'Amour were a big impact on me. In fall of 2004 I made 7 bass solo songs. You could tell they had a lot of Tool inspirations in them. I used these songs as a gift to my girlfriend and made her a CD. In 2005, I didnt play bass from January-July. I had joined the military and had to go through a couple of things. I then ended up buying a new bass guitar, which is my current bass guitar, SR400. I then practiced for a good while. I met some great guitar players along the way like Thomas Gilbert and Mariam. They tought some tips too. In 2006 is when I got into bass solo artist. Michael Manring was someone I never heard of but when I did, I thought he was simply the greatest bass player I ever heard in my opinion. I met other bassist over the internet and I learned more stuff on bass like slap and pop. I then picked up an OLP bass guitar. And now, its the future.
