Ebest Gazine
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Ebest Gazine's three official members- Brian Garrott, Charles Portman and Tim Otto, met sometime in Ann Arbor's Huron High-School; and soon discovered that they had to form a band the likes of which had never been seen.
Squeezing into a small small computer room in Ann Arbor, lovingly dubbed 'studio A'; the memebers of Ebest Gazine began writing and playing songs in the fall of 1998. Over time classics such as Ellen Reid, Red Sign and Northernsong were born and eventually graced the band's first album, "Live from studio A".
Still comitted to the creation of music, the band stayed in contact throughout the colligate years of 1999-2004 and met sporaticly to share thier new tunes and ideas.
Still in school, the band is currently working on thier second album, "Song Tree", which will feature a number of new tracks created in 2003 and early 2004. Many of the songs were recorded in Charles' parent's basement, but many others have been done in Kalamazoo using Brian's new and "very fancy" recording setup. Big Tim is currently working on some new material of his own and looks to build on the success of Ebest Gazine's chart topping track "Woke up drunk again"
Upon thier impending graduations and journeys into the world at large, the band's destiny is unknown; yet thier committment to the production of the music they love is the one constant in a world of uncertainties.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We are currently working on that..... mostly we just write and play music for our own enjoyment and to vent about certain people.....
