DYSTOPIA BIOGRAPHY
The doors of the New Adolescence Prison open wide. The cells are in total darkness. A new prisoner is being transported inside. His name: Atrocious. Accused for tomb digging and taking part in illegal rituals of different Heresies, Atrocious meets Valgrind, who was accused for pillaging a public place (actually he was peeing in a church’s yard).
Together they forge an evil escape plan and one dark night they jump off the window. By accident they fall on two other fellows that were escaping the prison as well, and they decide to escape together. There names: Erus Fatum and Stefanos. After hard effort they manage to escape and in their effort they steal a car and rush away.
In that holy, blessed car they decide to become a band. With Atrocious (Vocals, Rhythm guitars), Valgrind (lead guitars), Erus Fatum (Bass) and Stefanos (drums) a new legend is formed. And while driving away from the prison the radio plays a familiar song by Kreator. The song? It is called ‘Dystopia’. They can still remember its God-blessed lyrics: ‘ALL HAIL DYSTOPIA’
DYSTOPIA REAL BIOGRAPHY
Everything started in October of 2004, when Atrocious asked Valgrind if he liked Metallica. They started to share there music interests, until December of the same year when Atrocious asked Valgrind if he was interested in playing in a band. The answer was yes. So Valgrind after one week came up with the first song called “March of a Demon”. But in order to play two guitars and a vocalist weren’t enough. So we found two classmates Born in Lust for Blood in bass and lead vocals and Savvas in drums. So in February of 2005 we started rehearsing for about three weeks. But due to personal reasons of Savvas he quitted the band. After this the band stopped for a small period.
In April of 2005 in a rocking market Atrocious met Erus Fatum and Athos. They asked him to join there band but in return Atrocious asked them to join his band. So they entered. The new line up was Erus Fatum on bass guitar and Athos on drums. After two rehearsals with them B.I.L.F.B. quits the band and so Atrocious takes his position and makes the vocals and the guitars.
The band started making cover songs from heavy metal bands, and trying to reach a level where they could make a gig. So except from the songs the band needed a name. The first name was Magma flow but the band members were not satisfied with this name and they started thinking of a new name. Finally Atrocious bought Kreator’s cd “Enemy of god”, on this cd there was a song called Dystopia. He liked the name and so he decided with the other members to keep it.
Now back to the band. As the days where passing and Dystopia where rehearsing in September of 2005 decides to make there first concert at club Red. The day came and everything seems to be ready for the gig. The play list was March of a demon and two covers. As soon as we were on the stage we started playing, but due to some factors that didn’t have to do with the band, like the fact that we didn’t had sound checking and so we were on stage and the members could not hear what the others played and some other factors we ended up to be have the worst first show in our career. So in a friendly environment we decided that we needed and new drummer and so Athos was out of the band but the problem was that Erus Fatum wanted to quit with him. So we ended up again two guitars only. So after a month of searching Atrocious found the drummer that the band needed. His name was Stefanos (A.K.A Dark Prophet). The band started again but with no bass player.
This time the band was more in black and doom metal. So in January having ready five songs from which the two were own material we decided that we wanted to play Again but we needed a bass player. After a lot of discussion with our ex-bassist Erus Fatum he came back and in February of 2006 we had our second gig. This gig was fucking great. We had great time watching the crowd dance and head banging like crazy listening to our songs and finally closing the night with the cover song Under the Name of Legion of the Greek legends of black metal Rotting Christ.
After that night we had many plans with gigs but Stefanos decided to quit because of not enough of free time. So the band decided to continue with no drummer and so Valgrind started writing new evil songs.
Finally we come in November of 2006 and the band had more than 8 own songs. After seven months without drums Stefanos decides to re-enters the band and he brings with him one news member which was added in the line up of the band. So the final line up of the band is as follows:
Atrocious: Guitars, Backing Vocals
Valgrind: Guitars
Erus Fatum: Bass Guitars
Dark Prophet: Drums
Damien: Vocals
This is not the end, but the start of a new upcoming curse. Be prepared for one band which will be written in the history of Cypriot metal bands in the next few years. We promise it to you all
