Dycotomus
Dycotomus is a music project I have been working on.. off an on for 13 year or so. For the most part I play all the instruments but over the years people have come in and played a few parts.
The over all concept is finding sounds to build textures and then placing a lead like part over the texture.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have not played live in 7 or 8 years but when I did play life I played coffee houses and book stores. The most interesting show we did was a location in Houston tx. called the water wall. it is a free standing water fall about 60 feet high. We played the park area in front of the wall from 45 mins before sunset until an hour or so after dark.
Your musical influences
Brian Eno. For the stuff I actually record... but everything from Zep to Tull to Pat Metheny and Gator mouth Brown... blues Jazz stuff
What equipment do you use?
Custom Hollow tele with humbuckers and a synth pick up.. Ibanez bass. Heritage 535 guitar. Mandolin.
Tc elctonics Fire works.. Mesa boogie preamp. Vortex effects processor. Korg base snyth. Roland vg8. Presonus bluse max compressor.
I record using Sonar software. I do use alotta plugins so not gonna list them here.
Anything else?
I dont really want or expect people to like.. "listen" to my music.. the concept is for it to just be on in the background while they do other things. It would be kinda weird at shows.. I would kinda tell people to read or talk and stuff.. to not like.. pay attention to what we were doing..
