Dusty Dee
From slow-steppin' to 2-steppin', it comes from the heart.
If I had to sum it all up in one line, that would be it. That's what I am. That's what I do. And I love it!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've mostly just played for family and friends. My Mom bought me a couple hours in the recording studio for Christmas a couple years back and I fell in love with it. I saved up some money and went back and recorded a song I wrote for her, and gave it to her the next Christmas. Now I'm hooked on writing, recording, and performing. Gotta love it!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love playing live when I can get the chance. It seems to bring out a whole different side of me, a side that's a little more out-going than usual.
Your musical influences
I grew up listening to Kris Kristofferson records that my dad had; I love Kris' songwriting abilities, and his ability to create emotion through a song, amazing. Garth Brooks (esp. his songs written by Tony Arata). Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Blue Rodeo, Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans, ... a wide variety.
What equipment do you use?
Me and my guitar!!!
Anything else?
It's all about how the song makes you feel.
