Richard: Check our offical website at www.skarka-pohl.com
Josef: We bothe also keep our personal pages, mine is www.josefskarka.cz (you see, I am a patriot ;) ) and Richard is www.richardpohl.net You can keep updated about us there as well as here at the Soundclick (we plan to present our solo profiles here soon, too).Have you performed in front of an audience?Richard: Yeah, we had done a couple of interesting gigs already, like performing in the centre of the Mexico City or in the Moravian Autumn festival, which is among the highest rated festivals of our native country, Czech Republic.
Josef: For me the greatest experience was the trip to Mexico for sure... it was just amazing and I really enjoyed the tour all-around the place and also the opportunity to collaborate with the greatest composers of the country, inlcuding Omar Rojas or Jomi Delgado...
Your musical influences
Richard: Well, all the greatest pianists I heard, including Rubinstein, Arrau, Gilels, Richter, Lipatti, Kapell and so - of course also the Czech masters like Kubalek, Firkusny, Hnat, Jirasky and others (some of those I had the great fortune to study with).
Josef: I would rather not comment on this topic... I like to study myself and not let myself be influenced by any recording or so.What equipment do you use?
Richard: I use acoustic pianos (prefering Steinway, sometimes play also Petrof, Bohemia or Boesendorfer) and also have a brand new digital one, Yamaha P140 digital piano. For recording I stick with my Sony MZ-M200 Hi-MD recorder and my Canon camera. Mic is Sennheiser MM-C1 (by Microphone Madness).
Josef: He is the engineer, so I do not need anything. But I cannot leave out my Sony Vaio notebook and excellent watch by EPOS, which is just a superb miniature gem of the hand-made craft.Anything else?
We are very thankful to the Soundlick for being interested in interviewing us.
All the best to all music fans,
Josef and RichardAdmin
