Teddington lock keeper, Dudley Tyrrell is taking on the music world- with a little help from his friends.
Ferry Road, an album of personal songs, features Art Wood Ronnie Wood’s brother, Keith Grant and Don Crane of the Downliners and Pete French of Leafhound, on several of the tracks. Percy ‘Van’ Gough, who has jammed with Blues Incorporated and Rod Stewart, also makes an appearance on mandolin, together with Mark Freeman drummer with the 80's legends Ottway and Barrett. Dudley, who has played alongside his friends on harmonica at Twickenham’s rhythm and blues Eel Pie Club, was inspired to create an album of his own compositions in his spare time, after meeting up with media composer and producer, Rick Cassman, formerly signed to Pete Townshend’s Eel Pie Records label with his band Straight Eight.
“I regularly play acoustic guitar gigs in the area and got talking to Rick about recording some of my own material,” explained Dudley, influenced by American folk and often compared to Bob Dylan in style and sound.
“The album’s got a little bit of everything in it folk, rock, and a tinge of blue-grass which is why Art and the other lads were perfect for it - they’ve been brilliant. Now I’m thinking about touring with the album later in the year.”
Ferry Road is out in August. Contact info@tanyareed.co.uk for more details.
