As a native of San Francisco California,the 20 year old Duce Dolla, born Derrick R. Hampton, is no stranger to the rap game. At the age of 9, he begin listening to local, Bay Area rap artists such as the RBL POSSE, Rappin 4Tay, 11/5 just to name a few, and begin to pick up ideas and concepts for songs, freestyles, and melodies. Growing up in the citys Bay View District, has never been a walk in the park for this guy. Being faced with violence, drugs, and prostitution, this cat has seen a lot. Til this day, I am never ashamed to tell any one where I am from. It has been the best experience. I have experienced so much that I feel I have no other choice but to go to the top and I give the credit to Hunters Point because if it wasnt for the people that looked over me when I was a young dude just trying to see what was goin on, then I probably would be dead or locked up. Duce Dolla As not only a rapper, Duce Dolla has also begin to master his producing skills with producing some of the hottest, underground tracks out. Combining smooth strings, horns, 808/909kicks and hi hats with other sound elements, Duce Dolla has started to create a buzz in the industry as one of the games hottest, young producers. With production on a few east coast mix tapes, he has started to generate huge feedback on his talent and also that unique sound that he brings to the table. Duce Dolla is one of the games premier talents. With flaming hot beats, catchy word usage and a strong business sense, Duce Dolla is starting to become a primetime player and is aiming for the top. With influences from such big names such as: Messy Marv, Jay-Z , Timberland, Dr. Dre and Kanye West, he has a solid base of creativity and focus and is soon to on his way to ripping this rap game apart, or atleast until Duce Dolla becomes a house hold name.
