Aloha My name is Ricky aka STAR or Rick-STAR, well I'm 21yrs old and Currently living in Hilo,Hawaii I am Musician here on the Island, I've played with many known Artists within and outside of the Islands such as...Lukie D, Kekai Boyz, Mixjah, Fiji, Damon Williams, Pomai and Loeka, Ryan and the rsp crew, Moemoe'a, Sahra Indio, Rizzen, Humble Soul, Pana'ewa, Bufo1fino, Sudden Rush, RJ Kaneao, Sashamon, Mana, Ho'okoa, Danyo Cummings, Chief Ragga, Papa'a Bay Boys and Many More...I am currently playing with alot of upcoming bands look in the near future for some of these Artists..DOWNSTAR, 'Ai Pohaku "the rockers", and Island Harmony... I had the Honor to share the same stage as Ooklah the Moc, Katchafire, Naughty by Nature, Shinehead, Barrington Levy, King Yellowman, Wailing Souls, Mikey Dread, SOJA, Third World, Big Mountain and etc.. I play various Instruments from Guitar,Bass,Keyboards, Melodica and a little drums...My Instrument I prefer is BASS, BASS makes you move your waist...I am very interested in the Media Field Such as Recording Music to Video Production...Someday I would like to own my own recording buisness, but for now I just want to enjoy Playing MUSIC... I really enjoy listening to ROOTZ, LOVERS ROCK, REGGAE, also Hawaiian, Country, Jazz, but i've been exploring different types of music listening to Blues, Hip-Hop 'old school to new school', Rap, Rock its really expanding my mind on music...For more of my music check out my SoundClick Below... 13yrs old...first band playing guitar "na leo ho'okani"
16yrs old...Na leo broke up and started playing with a reggae band called Jus' Press
17yrs old...Started playing backing bass around the Big Island of Hawaii
18yrs-19yrs old...Joined The Rockers now known as 'Ai Pohaku, also started backing up Moemoe'a, Kekai boys, and alot of popular musicians throught out the island chain..Formed Downstar which when on for half a year and suddenly fell apart...
Also had the chance to share his talent in Las Vegas @ the Pure Aloha Festival...
20yrs old...Re-Started Downstar along with drummie Hoku Aki...Started playing bass with local boys Ho'okoa who recently just released an album entitled "comin' atchya"...Starting to get the studio up, which is now StarProductions and Island Bwoy Beats...
21yrs old...Currently still playing music....Have you performed in front of an audience?I play backing bass and keyboards...also perform with Downstar, 'Ai Pohaku, Island Harmony and Ho'okoa
