A band effort here. I started playing the Barney Miller theme on my bass and the guys just picked it up. Has to be one of my Favourite songs.

Started out as a song about a gangster called Jimmy the Fish. Ended up being about a Baracuda called Skinny.

I started a riff that got the whole band playing
Dr Hoos Blues Band was formed as an excuse for some mates to jam. After a lot of jamming with various musos the line up got solid. We did a gig at a surf club and that was that. We wanted to play even more. A gig here and a gig there got us out there and we lasted three years before events changed and the band sadly, folded up. There is another band in the pipeline with a similar Delta blues style on the way. And then some.Band/artist history
Yes the band is history but the music lives on.
We collaborated on a few originals and I have written a few myself. and no doubt there are more to come.Have you performed in front of an audience?No. The band has long finished but it'd be a shame to kill it outrihgt. There are other Dr Hoo's songs recorded somewhere.
Did we like it?. Hell yes.
Special moments? yeah there were some.
Your musical influences
Influences come from far and wide. Blues being the main element. There's a lot of different backgrounds involved here which I think shows up in the overall sound.What equipment do you use?
Matt's gear: Fender P Bass, Fender Jaguar Bass, Fender P fretless, Fender V24 Five string bass, Diplomat semi acoustic (got that when I was 12). Behringer 300W head, 2 x 10" cab, 1 x 15" cab. Some effects. Optima Gold strings.Anything else?
Dr Hoos is no more. Been disbanded for a few years now but not to worry. Music is still the winner at the end of the day.Contact

Well Howdy. Paul the harpman here. Another little story. Steve came along to practice one night and exclaimed that he "needed a little notice" before he could play the next gig. Hence this song was written about him. Matt got a walking bass going and the rest fell into place. enjoy!
