SYMPHONIC MELODIC DEATH GOTHIC DOOM METAL FROM GUADALAJARA, MEXICO, DRAMA, INTENSITY...

Current line-up (since November 2004) Cecilia Ledesma Soprano Voice Ángela Ramírez Keyboards Alfonso Tobías Guitar/Tenor Voice Roberto Pérez Guitar/Death Voice Daniel Estrada Bass/Black Voice Luis Santana Drums History The project started in the year 2003, on one side Cecilia (soprano) and Roberto (Guitar/Death Voice) ended an era with their former Doom band “Melancholy” and they wanted to start something new a little different with more power and harmony. On his own side, Alfonso (Guitar/Keyboard player) was participating in a Thrash project, but at the same time he worked in a solo project of symphonic metal in his personal studio. June 2003. In that month, Cecy, Roberto and Alfonso get together to share their ideas and to start a project named “Vesania” supported by Abraham Banda on drums (former “Melancholy” drummer). Alfonso leaves his thrash band to dedicate entirely to this new project. Yet without bass player, with Cecy at the voice, Robert on guitar and death vocals, Alfonso on guitar and keyboards and Abraham on drums, the band begins to work on composition right away, although the band “Melancholy” was still together, working for their “good bye” performance. October 2003. The band “Melancholy” plays for the last time at the “Legion Postuma” first festival. For this performance, Melancholy features Alfonso as guest keyboard player on a Nightwish cover. After that event, the band Melancholy breaks apart and its former members work totally on their own new projects: Abraham Banda (Melancholy’s ex-drummer) and his brother Cruz Banda (Melancholy’s ex-guitar player) keep working on the death metal project with pre-Hispanic influences with had started since 2002: the band “Ek” (black). German Garmiño (Melancholy’s ex-bass player) starts several studio metal and electronic projects. And on the side that concerns us, Cecilia and Roberto have full-time to “Vesania” together with Alfonso. A short time latter, Abraham leaves Vesania’s drums to be fully on EK. Now the new project needs not only a bass player but a drummer as well. November 2003. Germán Garmiño (co-founder of Melancholy along with Roberto) supports the band on bass and at the same time, Enrique Real joins on drums. Also in this month, the band decides to change its name for the Latin word “dramatum” written with “v” instead of “u”. German doesn’t stay long, for he has another personal musical projects. February 2004. Daniel Estrada, former bassist of the band Agon Dray (which just broke apart), takes the bass vacancy adding his experience to the band. “Dramatvm” finally has his first basic line-up and the work is intensified. March 2004. “Dramatvm” is accepted on the “Legión Postuma”: organization of Mexican metal bands with headquarters at Guadalajara City which support metal bands and events. May 2004. “Dramatvm” is invited to play at the presentation event of the new CD of the war/black metal band “Lords Of Darkness” which would take place on May 29th. Although the compositions aren’t finished yet, the band accepts to open the concert. For this performance, Dramatvm records 3 songs on a rehearsal and throws some copies of an un-official demo-cd called “Sunday Rehearsal Demo May 2004” with those 3 tracks. Even though the public didn’t know well the new band, there is a very good response and cd’s are distributed with great critics. At the end of this month, the band goes to “Pancho Villa Studios” to record its official promo-CD. September 2004. On September 22nd , before the “Legión Póstuma” organization, the official presentation of the promo-CD entitled “INDEX DRAMATVM” take place. It contains 5 tracks: 1. Profetia, 2. Violent Storm, 3. Vesania, 4. My Domains and 5. Violent Store (Instrumental). The music: a combination of gothic metal, melodic death metal, symphonic metal and doom with a lot of strength and harmony. 100 copies are rapidly distributed for promotional shipping and for selling among fans. Almost immediately a second set of 100 copies had to be thrown to keep promoting the CD. This promo-cd is broadcasted on local radio program “El despeñadero”, in other specialized radio programs in other cities of Mexico, and eventually even in other countries as Argentina and USA. Also, the material is distributed and heard by several internet radio programs, and also by dedicated music download sites. In this month, Angela (former AgonDray member) joins Dramatvm on keyboards. Finally, the line-up of the band style is fulfilled. November 2004. After the presentation of Dramatvm’s music by means of the promo-CD, radio and internet, Dramatvms official presentation takes place on the “Moonlight Fest II”, as a guest band the day 27th. Dramatvm’s music Fans attend the to see the live presentation of the band. The band finally plays its material and the audience responds well. On November 30th, Enrique Real leaves the band and Luis Santana (another Agon Dray former member) takes the drumsticks. February 2005. The bands “Lords of Darkness” and “Dramatvm” are invited to play at the city of Sayula, Mexico the day 26th. However, both bands arrange a local metal event for the 19th. The bands rumbled “La Mancha” bar on Guadalajara City, Mexico. Promo cd’s keep selling. Finally on February 26th, both bands perform at Sayula City with an excellent response of the audience. More cd’s sold. March 2005. The “Dark Desire Fest” on Aguascalientes City World be the next git. Along with 2 electro-dark bands (Manto Lunar and Disfuncion Organica) and a Gothic Rock band (Tragico Ballet), Dramatvm performs ath the “Teatro del Parque” theater. With a great sound and organization, people received well the contrasting gothic/death melodic/aggressive style of the band, nevertheless the electro-dark nature of the event. Promo Cd’s are sold out and more had to be made. After this event, Dramatvm concentrates to end up the compositions to record its first album. June 2005. Although still preparing the new material, Dramatvm participates in the evento “Storm In Hell” supporting once again “Lords Of Darkness” who present their new EP. Dramatvm’s promo-CD’s are sold out again. July 2005. Another seto f promo CD INDEX DRAMATVM is made with a new slightly different format. Dramatvm accepts to participate on the “Nocturnal Frost Fest” along with the bands: Beu Ribe, Mortoss, Instar Wolf, Mortoss and Bellum. Dramatvm presents some of the new material and the band is well received again. The band went back to the studio to complete the album material.
