DPS (Hud City NY)
Dead Poet Society (D.P.S.) is the brainchild of 2 MC's from the City of Hudson in Upstate NY. Reppin' the 518, Fuze & Rip have begun an all-out assault on the rap game.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We grew up in the same neighborhood. Kids running from cops, drinking 40's and freestyling on the block. We've been at it since 13, doing talent shows, showing and proving, keeping it real. And as time would pass fate would bring me(RIP)back to my partner in crime, so we trying to really do it big now.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We've done several live shows over the years. Rip blew up Sombrero Beach in Fla. on the 4th of July, as well as a performance in Corpus Christi, TX. that was met with critical acclaim. We were also the first group to perform at the Player's Club in Hudson,NY. Celebrating their grand opening, we were hired to do a 10-song set in front of what was a standing room only crowd. That perofrmance was well received by the raucous crowd on hand. We also performed several impromptu sets at Paulie's and the St. Charles in Hudson as well. In the fall of 97, Fuze and Rip placed 1st and 2nd out of 173 MC's to win a freestyle contest sponsored by Fly 92.3, an Albany based radio-station... their prize? an all expense paid trip by limo to Madison Square Garden in NYC, where they sat 4th row at P.Diddy's No Way Out tour. Currently, you can find the two blowing up the phone lines at Jamz 96.3, another Albany based station. Well-known in the 518, they have been nominated for the Hot Pick of the week a few times with Fuze winning the award on 10/8. Throughout their young careers, they have rubbed elbows several times with established artists. Ma$e, the LOX, Can-i-bus, the Lost Boyz, Skillz and Kanye West are some of the artists they have met.

What equipment do you use?
Were using computer based studio software used for multi-track production and recording. Currently we are using industry beats for demo's and albums, we havn't found a producer yet, so holla... Simple Microphone and raw to ya jaw lyrics!
Anything else?
We won't have to say another word, we let the tracks do all the talking for us. And so without further interruption welcome to the world of DPS.........................................
