Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Raised in Lake City near Florida's reigning murder capitol Jacksonville. Jarvis "Dough Boi" Curry at the early age of 10 relocated to Orlando Florida as the result of a brief run in with the law. While in Orlando, Dough Boi learned reading, writing and hustling ,a skill that would later prove to be the fuel driving his authentic musical style.These encounters equipped him with survival skills and the tools to express himself through rhymes. After several years Dough Boi returned to his "roots" in Lake City, Fl. Once back home Dough Boi pursued his education and graduated despite the many challenges that plagued him and many of his friends. The desire to improve his circumstances, led Dough Boi back to his first love-music. In 2008 Dough Boi teamed up with Mista Kinfolk and one of Mista Kinfolk's child hood friends /music production partner MgeeZy (producer of Yo Gotti's "Pure Cocaine"; Haitian Fresh/ Lil Boosie's "Gon Jock"; Nappy Boy Records artist Young Cash’s “X” and many other classics). With his team intact, Dough Boi has since released underground smashes such as "On Them Thangz" featuring Amazaine, "On My Grind" featuring legendary R&B crooner Lorenzo (3 albums peaked at #6,#24 and #41 respectively on Billboard charts) and "Go Time" a club banger sure to make the ladies "shake it for the cash".
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have performed all over the North Central Florida area. Lake City's "Club Basement' Jasper's Club 600, Macclenny Florida, Gainesville Florida....basically all over the region.
