Band/artist history

Doug & Cindy Mickan have been involved in some form of ministry almost all of their lives.  Doug was raised in church, and began singing when he was 2 years old.  His mom says that she walked into his room one night, and found him standing on his bed singing "Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus".  Not long after that, Doug began singing in his home church.  He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 10.   At the age of 12, he penned the words to his first song "Meet Again" after the loss of his grandparents in an automobile accident.  Doug has been writing music ever since.
     At the age of 16, Doug took a course in ventriloquism.  It was after this that Doug began traveling around; performing anywhere he would be invited.  A typical performance would last about an hour, and include music.  He did not begin performing his own original music until after he and Cindy began dating.  "Without Cindy's encouragement, I probably would not have ever performed any of my songs." 
     Cindy is the daughter of a Baptist Minister.  She was saved when she was only 5 years old.  Worried that she might be too young to truly understand, her dad asked a lot of questions.  After a short amount of time, he was at peace that she had indeed accepted Christ, with the childlike faith that we all should have.  Cindy was baptized a few weeks later after the baptistery was modified with cinder blocks for her to stand on.  
     When Cindy was in the fourth grade, her dad was called to Belgrade, MO to serve as pastor of Temple Missionary Baptist Church.  It was at this time that she began attending the same school that Doug had been at since kindergarten.  Being only a year apart, they knew each other all the way through high school, but did not date until after Doug graduated.  They were married in May of 1999, and lived in St. Louis, MO where they both attended college.
     Doug & Cindy served at Faith Baptist Church in St. Charles, MO for three years. Doug was director of Music & Youth, while Cindy taught a Sunday School Class, and worked in the Children's Ministry.   In the fall of 2000, Doug & Cindy joined the staff of Todd West Evangelistic Ministries.  During this time, they traveled from church to church, leading worship and doing concerts at revivals, and crusades throughout the central part of the U.S.  In the fall of 2001, they released their debut CD entitled, "Let It Be Clear" Since it's release; literally hundreds of people have enjoyed the uplifting, worshipful songs included on the album.
     Doug & Cindy currently reside in Maumelle, AR where they serve full time at Oasis Church, which they helped plant.   Doug & Cindy continue to travel part time, performing at revivals, crusades, and conferences.

We lead worship at Oasis Church in Maumelle, AR every Sunday. We also perform at other churches, & events where we are invited.
