It's called talent, ears, ambition, drive, a vision, and any type music software. I basically use: Cubase, Cooledit Pro, FL Studio Producer edition XXL, Motif 8Anything else?
Being Unique in your music is the way to go. You also have to remember that there are billion of "Producers," out there. If you want to be accepted in the music industry you have to make your self known. You have to bring something to the table that no one has yet brought.
