Doc Simons
We play blues, americana, rock 'n roll, and a few originals in coastal South Carolina.
Band/artist history
Im from Queens, (NEW YORK CITY?!). I started playing guitar at ten, harp at 14, and mandolin at 16. At 18, I played on Jerry Jeff Walkers L.A. Freeway album (MCA, 1973) and spent a few years on the road mostly in California and Texas. In the later seventies and early eighties I went to college and grad school and played music on the side. Since then Ive worked, raised a family and continued to play music, now at venues along the Grand Strand.
The Doc Simons Trio
Doc Simons: vocals, guitar, harmonica, mandolin
Daniel Little Doc Simons: bass, vocals
Tony Maulden: drums, vocals
The Trio is Guitar and Harmonica, Bass, Drums and Vocals playing blues and classic rock with a little country/folk thrown in the mix. If you like The Band, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Hendrix, Dylan and Wilson Picket you will definitely like us.
