DJ Symptoms

dj symptoms owns your soul.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
My parents made me take a reading course in eigth grade at Sylvan Learning Center because my dumb ass couldn't read. They said if I tried hard, they'd buy me a set of turntables. I tried, and they bought me turntables. They were mad shaky, $100 Gemini turntables, thrown together with a $30 mixer in to a "Starter Kit" for like $250. How that is a deal, is beyond me. They were belt-driven and had shitty generic cartridges, which made them impossible to scratch on. Somehow I pulled it off, and even DJ'd dances and such at local schools. Before any of this, I had been using the computer to manipulate sounds and make beats. Once I got turntables I felt like a real DJ. This gave me the motivation to actually put some money and effort into it, and get established. I have a decent selection of beats now, with more on the way.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Whenever the opportunity presents itself. Basically, it has to be worth it. It's a hassle to pack up my turntables and move around doing little shows. So in order for me to put in the effort, there has to be some incentive.
