DJ Roshi
Ruffneck rudebuoy turntablism to keep your bumbaclot rumpin! Yah'mean. Step up if you want to battle, or sit down and enjoy the phat scratchin over dope hiphop beats :-) Maybe even some underground Aoteroa freestylings from the dopest MC's. Might even promote some original aerosol artwork if I can get my digital camera working again! PEACE!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Started DJing in 2001 after seeing the world DMC competitions. Totally motivated me to get out there and start juggling beats, scratching samples, making my own sound. The ever-increasing profile of New Zealand hip-hop artists has also been inspirational - check out stuff by P-Money, Sirvere, Mareko and the Decepticons, Scribe, Che Fu, and King Kapisi. Check out Nesian Mystic if you like your funky RnB.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Clubs, turntablist competitions.
Your musical influences
Any scratch artists, specially the ones I've seen live - Craze, QBert, J-Rocc, Jazzy J. Ish loads of New Zealand turntablists keepin it real, P-Money (Dirt Records), CXL (Ill Sematics), Manchoo and Mouli had a sick battle at the 2002 ITF.
