One man, a few instruments, way too much free time...

Band/artist history

I started playing guitar when I was about fifteen or so. Lots of Punk, Thrash, Hard Rock and Hair Metal bands (yeah I know) nothing too serious, mostly back yard keggers for the beer. I quit playing and sold most of my gear when I turned twenty-one (its a long story) and started playing again at around twenty-nine or thirty. Now when I play its Blues or Classic Rock, usually for my own enjoyment, but some times for friends home recording projects and demos.

Have you performed in front of an audience?

I haven't played in front of people for quite some time now, as the various constraints of a “normal” life (crap jobs, bad relationships, other sorts of mundane minutiae) have left me with little time to embarrass my self on a small stage in a poorly lit room. Every year for the past two years I say, “This is the year I start playing live again...” And every year I come up with some reason not to. That being said; this is the year I start playing live again.

A special moment?

I use to play a lot of back-yard kegger's when I was a kid. And I am a left handed guitar player. One night we end up with (what I thought of at the time) a large crowd of people. From the back of the yard we start hearing people chanting "Judy Rednecks" But as it picks up momentum I realize they are yelling "Play some Hendrix." So I do my best to play through "Red House" and to my amazement the rest of the band (all hair metal fanatics) falls right in to lock step we kill with that song and actually come away from the gig with some pocket money. After its all over and we are packing up the gear my bass player says "Hey man that was cool, but why did you go in to that Hendrix tune all of a sudden, and Who in the hell is Judy Rednecks?"
