DJ Capone createst the world's hottest
beats for rappers and singers coast to
coast, and recently as far away as the UK.
In addition to making blazing instrumentals
he raps with Atlanta based group The Cartel,
whose debut album is about to drop this fall.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Cartel, like Wu Tang, G Unit or Ruff Ryders,
is an extended family that's much bigger than
the primary MCs in the group (Capone, Glaze and L).
We're always looking for talented new rappers
and singers to add to the camp so if you're trying
to do it big holla at ya boys.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?

We've been wrapped up in the studio working
on the album but when it drops in the fall
we're going on tour doing shows to promote it.
Your musical influences
Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, Hi Tek, Kanye, Scott Storch,
Three 6 Mafia, 8Ball & MJG, 50 Cent & G Unit, Jay Z, Xzibit, Talib Kweli, Ice Cube.
What equipment do you use?
Pro Tools, Reason, and all the latest gear
we can find to play with.
Anything else?
Yeah shouts out to Vivica and Olivia
