Dj Baby Drama

The Aphilliates own DJ Drama and Dj Baby Drama has become two of the new premier DJs gaining respect in the mixtape game. This year they were voted best djs (hip hop appreciation week). Best Mixtape DJs by Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 and nominated for Best South DJs at this year’s Justo MixTape Awards. But this is not the only branch that the world famous 25-year old and 16 year old can claim on their DJ tree. This award-winning DJ, father, writer, and lecturer based in Atlanta began his career in the early 90’s on the Philly hip-hop scene.

He has been featured in such publications as Vibe, XXL, King, The Source, Spin, Urb, The Village Voice & The Atlanta-Journal Constitution. MTV has also done a feature of his work on Mixtape Mondays & MTV.com. He’s also been featured on two of BET’s ..1 shows: Rap City, and 106 & Park.

DJ Drama and Dj Baby Drama frequently DJs some of Atlanta’s biggest parties for the likes of P.Diddy, Allen Iverson, Jermaine Dupri & Lil Jon. During this year’s Super Bowl, he rocked at many of Houston’s premier parties. Besides the big extravaganzas, he is also very well known for his soulful eclectic style, which is known to attract the tastemaker crowd.

Many DJ’s can brag about radio but Dram can brag about having his own mix show on South Africa’s largest urban station, MetroFM. During The All Access Breakfast Show, 4 million daily listeners hear his mix 4 times a month. DJ Drama and Dj Baby Drama will be touring the country soon on a Heineken sponsored trip for his third visit. Drama and the Aphilliates crew now have their own radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio called “Aphilliates Radio Presents Generation Now”; It started in September 2004.

DJ Drama and Dj Baby Drama alongside Bahamadia, a critically acclaimed female mc, performed a 30-city European tour in 2002. He also did a few national engagements as a DJ for Slum Village in 2003. With a fan base nationally and internationally, he travels to various countries and cities for gigs many clubs and universities. He is currently the tour DJ for BME Recording Artist “Lil Scrappy”, and he is the official DJ for Hip Hop Recording Artist T.I.

And of course, there is still his mixtape career.

There are many mixtapes in today’s market but none in the South with the strength of DJ Drama and Dj Baby Drama's Gangsta Grillz. Now on its thirteenth volume, Gangsta Grillz, has been hosted by countless hip-hop stars. Lil Jon, Bonecrusher, T.I., David Banner and more have all shown love and support to the series. On the tenth volume, it was time to go bigger. Big Boi, from Outkast fame was brought in for Gangsta Grillz X. This was a monumental feat for Gangsta Grillz because the multi-platinum, Grammy award winner had never done a mixtape before. 15,000 cds were distributed and that’s not even including the countless bootlegs! Rolling Out Magazine and Ford Trucks also sponsored Gangsta Grillz X. The series is distributed in over 31 markets nationally, major distribution in Germany and countless internet sites. He is currently working on the Gangsta Grillz DVD, produced by Gorilla Flix.

His other series Automatic Relaxation has been hailed by the critics and loved by fans. Known for its neo-soul, smooth hip-hop, good music feel, he expresses his creativity not normally heard in mixtape fashion.
