"The Band"... is just myself at this point, Phillip Smith, lone track producer and turntablist - well I use that term loosely as I only have a year of experience under my belt, but my experience grows every day, and so does my love for the eletronic music scene, specifically break beats - and even more specific would be the Florida Breaks style.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Never been able to use my turntables at a large venue, thoug hi hope to someday. I have played live before 30-40 people at parties and local stuff. I love the feeling of just being in the music, seeing everyone else being in the music, and I love hearing some yell "hell yeah, I love this song".
Your musical influences
Right now, DJ Icey, Baby Anne, and J-Break all big time influences. I also like a lot of Tiesto's stuff, as well as Oaknefold, and even DJ Keoki - who was definitely the original Dj I aspired to be like. Now I just try and incorporate the trance with the breaks... try and create somethnig that is mine.
What equipment do you use?
2x TTX1, Korg Kaos III, Behringer 5ch mixer... plus my computer with countless programs for creating my own stuff.
