Distant Victory
distant victory is a project started by andrew fenstermaker in the early days of 2003. performances have ranged from solo acoustic to single guitar with two vocalists to a four piece acoustic group.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
though artist andrew fenstermaker began writing music for distant victory in the late days of 2001, he did not name the solo project until the early spring of 2003 when fellow musician & future drummer marc griffin began recording what would become "the early spring demos."
the name, in andy's eyes, allowed him to add musicians at will without the need to name each separate project while continuously performing the same music. thus, distant victory plays solo acoustic shows as well as shows with a partial or full group.
in august 2003, andy added marc griffin on drums and zack joseph on bass. a few days later, josh lamunyon joined as a second guitarist. the three took on distant victory as a side project- marc & zack from "fire under collision" & josh from a new unnamed gig he would start with marc after the first of 2004. FUC will record a short EP early in the coming months.
with andy's graduation from washington state university in december 2003, the project once again became solo and has moved from pullman, washington to seattle.
keep posted for mp3 released early in 2004. also, for more information, visit the contact section.
