DiSSiDENT's music style is similar to sepultura, Machinehead. With heavy,catchy tunes and powerful, fast drumming and together with aggressive, raw vocals, you don't want to miss out on them.Shac on vocals, Rafik on guitars, Joe on bass and Riff on drums.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Founded in 1997 by Rafik who persuaded Riff, his cousin to join in. Played mostly rock songs during their early days. Joe came into the scene late 1997. Played a few originals mostly composed by Rafik. Rafik was the guitarist and vocalist, Riff on drums and Joe on bass. A few months later, Rafik found difficulty in playing two roles at the same time as the songs get much 'better'. And the search for someone to shout for them the garbage that they have produced was needed.
After several years of searching hi and low, and after countless trials and errors, the band had enlisted 5 vocalists throughout their musical carrer. Then came a break early in 2002( After 4 years of 'soulsearching' ), a friend of Rafik,introduced to them a guy who not only can scream and shout, but writes lyrics and songs too. After a few jamming sessions with Shac, they have secured a true out and out vocalist that will stop at nothing to have a sore throat!
And so,the story goes on.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes we do. We have currently done two shows locally and two shows overseas. We were not at all please with the technicals with the local shows but the other two shows overseas were awesome. Great credits to the techs down there(Bintan)
