Dislife is a rock band from Sweden consisting of seven guys in their twentieths. The foundation of the band was set already 1996 when Chris and Peter J formed the duo Eternal. Eternal did acoustic music and Chris wrote all music and lyrics. After a couple of years after having tried a numerous band constellations, the band Dislife was formed, at that time Fredrik, Peter L, Martin, Mietek and Karl had joined the band. Mietek, who played the lead guitar, quit about a year ago and was replaced with Staffan. Chris, Fredrik, Peter L, Martin, Staffan, Mietek and Karl learned to know each other while studying music in high school all though they weren't playing much together during school time. The band was at first called This Life but changed it pretty much right from the beginning to Dislife since that felt more original and open to interpretations. The band setup of Dislife is Chris Michols vocals, Peter Johansson keyboard, Staffan Winroth lead guitar, Peter Lindholm Guitar, Martin Hast bass, Fredrik Olsson drums and Karl Jansson on percussion. This is a rather unusual setting for a rock band, but the bands music still feels genuine much thanks to the balance and differences of the band's members and the way they interact. The music style of the band can be a little hard to define but rock with a twist of grunge is probably the closest possible description. The music stretches from direct radio hits to more complicated material that demands a little more of the listener if he's to really appreciate them, which he will, as soon as he's got a grip of them. If you give the music some time you'll find that it has a great depth, a big amount of seriousness and insight. Dislife has during the time they've played together, which is about two years, produced a pretty large amount of material. About twenty of the songs have been recorded and about twenty additional songs are ready to be recorded. During these two years Dislife has also done some touring and built up a pretty large fan base around the country and the world. For the summer there are plans for a tour in Germany and maybe also a US â“ tour if everything goes as expected. A lot of the interest in Dislife from all corners of the world comes from successes in using Internet as a platform for their music. Dislife can be found at Mp3.com and also on their domain (www.dislife.com). The band has a promotional deal with Fightcloud (www.fightcloud.com) which is giving the Dislife record Hangover away for free to the entire US for a limited time and also a co â“ publishing deal with Cherry Lane (www.cherrylane.com) which is one of the worlds largest music publishers.
