Born and raised around the evils of being a young black male in his poverty stricken environment, Ian Wyatt a.k.a. Dime Breed (DB) surpassed his expectations of being a non-valuable asset in this world that declared his skin his sin.Growing up with three sisters and one brother in low-income housing in
Zanesville,OH caused Rebecca J Wyatts (Mother) second youngest child to learn the value of the dollar bill early on. While Rebecca struggled to keep food on the table and battle alcoholism, she saw Ian (DB) traveling down a viscious path of destruction. DB stayed running the streets with his older cousin Tank and other associates. Rebecca no longer able to control DB sent him to Denison,Tx ,where he would unite with his father for only the second time in his life.
While in his fathers care, DB would get a rude awakening about the facts of life and his perception on life as he knew it. Thomas (father) being a former hustler and vietnam vet., would not go so easy on DB. Teaching him about responsibility and working hard for what you want in life instead of going the fast route to a quick buck. Summertime and after school days were filled with long hot hours of working at his fathers detail shop in Denison,Tx ,mowing yards and anything else Thomas could find to consume DB's time. At times, heads would bump , but ultimately right would win over wrong. This would cause an attention that DB had never witnessed, just someone to take interest in what he was doing (to care).
DB stuck through the years with 2 of his first loves sports and music. This is what kept him sane when alot of other things did'nt matter to him. He would eventually receive a scholarship to go play football at a junior college in Texas, that would eventually lead to him finishing up at the prestige Texas Tech University in Lubbock,TX. Here, DB would work on the collaberation of street sense and book smarts. Both in which he had, and mastered very well. So getting on as the most talked about dj on the college radio station in his first year to promote his music on the side, was hustling on a broader level. DB became an instant hit with Tech students as well as the immediate town population. Promoters began noticing this raw and uncut talent and began offering him opening gigs with the likes of Warren G, Snoop Dogg, SPM, Fat Joe, Lil Flip, Slim Thug, and many more acts that touched down through West Texas. His older brother whom he met upon his arrival of first staying with his dad, joined DB's team with promotions and marketing(websites, flyers, posters, interviews, ect) to make him a markee player in the lone star rap game today as you see him.
Dime Breed, an entrepreneur in his own right, still resides in West Texas, remaining to be a power house force at a young age in the Southern Music Industry, as well as the #1 independent record label in Texas. P.S. and he's just gettin started.
