I wrote this as a musical tribute to my father Jerry B. Matthews (J.B.M.). He passed away on February 22,2007.. His legacy of music, love and faith in Jesus Christ will live forever. www.soundclick.com/jerrymatthews

Always Remember Always Remember
I began writing this song on Christmas day 2007. The first Christmas without both my Mother and Father. The end result is this musical expression of my feelings that day. I will always remember.......

Counting The Days Counting The Days
In my Father's house are many dwelling places. If it were not so I would have told you. For I go to prepare a place for you. - John 14:2

Stephen Matthews
Band/artist history
Stephen Matthews is the creative and performing force of "Digital Storm".
The dream began in his mind at a very young age. Stephen has been playing music since he was four years old. At the age of thirteen he began writing guitar based blues and rock and continued this throughout his teenage years. However, there was another side of musician and songwriter that lurked far below the surface. For most of Stephen's life he's been an admirer of film composers and the classical greats. His favorite being "Beethoven". He has always been moved by strong melodies even as a child. This "melodic" influence would prove to be a huge part of the Digital Storm sound.
Although he experimented on the piano and keyboards throughout his life, he never fully focused on the possibilities that could be accomplished if he dedicated more time the "keys". This all changed in the mid to late nineties. After performing and writing guitar-based rock for almost a decade he decided to dedicate time to his talent on the piano and keyboard. For many years he knew he could express himself through styles of music other than straight ahead rock. Now, he was determined to do just that.
Stephen began writing all of his songs using the piano and keyboards. This opened a whole new spectrum of ideas and creations. Now his guitar was a complimentary part of the songs rather than the focal point.
Digital Storm defies one standard genre classification. It is an original sound that fuses melody-driven hooks with wide elements of pop, rock, trance, ambient, industrial and classical with a retro 80's synthpop flavor.
As you listen to Stephen's catalog of songs (nearly 100) you will find this originality among many other things set Digital Storm apart from other artists. Another factor that sets Digital Storm apart from the majority of others in the Electronic genre is that a musician and not only a programmer writes and performs all of the music. Much of the accompaniment is recorded live rather than being sequenced. This also applies for many of the arrangements. Stephen uses this method when recording because he does not want the music to lose its human touch and become "mechanical". It is important that the emotion and feeling not be lost in any song. All of the guitar solos are also performed live by Stephen.
Stephen Matthews has officially been writing and performing under the name "Digital Storm" since 1999. However, The ideas behind it, the talent and writing skills that drive it and the desire to make a difference in the life of people through the gifts God gave him have been burning in his heart for many years.
His philosophy of music is easy to understand, "If you write music that you enjoy, other people will enjoy it as well." Simple enough!
Enjoy!!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Not nearly as much as I plan on doing in the near future!I Spend most all of my time writing and recording new music and arrangments.
Your musical influences
My father, Degarmo & Key, Rex Caroll, Martin Gore, Robert Miles, Trent Reznor, Moby, ZZtop and Beethoven to name JUST a few.
What equipment do you use?
Roland 880-EX, Yamaha RMx1, Roland Juno 106,Kurzwiel Spx-88, Roland Fantom X8, Electra Les Paul and anything else I get my hands on.
Anything else?
The most important decision you will ever make in your life is not how you invest, which job to take, where to go to school, and not even who you will marry (it's the second most important decision!). The single most important decision of your life is how you answer the question "Who do you say Jesus Christ is?". Nothing is more important than your eternal security of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Without the sacrifice of Christ's human life on the cross as our sin debt payment, there would be no covering of our sins and thus we would be condemned to the eternal judgement of hell and separation from God. Although the one and only road to Heaven is narrow and ONLY goes through Jesus Christ, He has already paid the ticket price for your journey there. John 3:16 reminds us that "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son; that whosoever shall believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life". YOU are part of the "Whosoever" in that verse and no matter what you have done in your past, what you may be doing right now, or could possibly do in the future, Salvation and Forgiveness is only a decision away for you. Don't let another day pass without KNOWING your eternal salvation is secure in Jesus Christ.

God bless!

Hi Stephen
It is always a pleasure to listen to your great music! I hope you are fine!
All the best,
Rachel
Like it all. Nicely presented and played with a depth of feeling. Sometimes bad things in our lives bring out the best in us. I'll drop in here from time to time and see what's happening. Thanks.
Nice work......I see you are into synth music deeply, check me out too-I do synths. Thank you.

Beautiful and simple, the way it should be. I liked "Jesus" particularly -- very straightforward, pulled no punches. Peace!!!
Love your music. Well produced, original, and with some gut feeling. I like the idea of "trance" as it applys here...you communicate to an audience with emotion...you "get your message across".
Reminds me of listening to Pink Floyd
while using hallucinogenic substances...or being mesmorized
by tubular bells or gary wright's first
musical entries. Well done, my friend.
