Digital Aura
Digital Aura is Greg Primmer of Petrolia, Ontario in Canada. At a very young age he began his musical studies taking classical piano. After 10 years, his desire to produce his own music led him into the field of electronically synthesized music. Although typically he enjoys dance music, he isn't tied to any one specific sound and he continues to forray into HOUSE, TRANCE and AMBIENT genres.
His passion is to bring EDM (electronic dance music) into the realms of his Christian faith... and to promote the Word of God through his music. Fully realizing that Trance and Christianity don't typically go hand-in-hand, he continues to delve into the small niche that is ...CHRISTIAN TRANCE
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Although Digital Aura contributes to Sunday services at his local church by playing keyboards there often, he does not play his "own" music live. His focus is on production for the time being.
Your musical influences
Musical influences include artists like Armin van Buuren, Thrillseekers, SolarStone and Andy Hunter.
Tastyfresh.com is a great place for Christian Producers of EDM to get together and correspond.
What equipment do you use?
As most of his sound is done strictly through software synths, Digital Aura uses the Project5 v2 workstation for his productions. He also makes use of a Behringer Eurorack UB1002 mixer, An E-MU X-Board Midi Controller and an M-Audio 24/96 soundcard. Other synths used: a Korg Trinity keyboard, Rapture, Dimension Pro, Stylus RMX, Vanguard and Z3ta+ softsynth VST plugins and SampleTank2 SonicSynth bundle. Some third party applications used are ReCycle 2.1 and Goldwave Audio Editor. He also enjoys using OrangeVocoder.
Digital Aura uses Tannoy Active Reveal speakers and a Blue Sky Media sub-woofer to monitor his mixes.
Project5 is a CAKEWALK music workstation.
