Influenced by the Beatles. Started playing at 12 yrs old. Grandmother wrote a song for Charlie Pride. Started singing with Dave Rogers and we formed a band in junior high school. Was in the service after high school. Served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division. Played rock and country music when I returned to the US. Toured the US and Canada twice in 1974 and 1983. Opened shows for many National Acts.
Band/artist history
Was pretty fortunate to start playing with friends and those friends became a touring band. Two national tours in the 70's and 80's. This band opened for many National Acts. We became very experienced and once played 31 shows on 30 days! Started writing original music while on the road. Sherriff and Measles are two former bands.
Left music for a while to make a living and am now able to write and record my own music. I've completed three albums with one currently in the works.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Many times throughout the years. Fairs, clubs, concerts. etc. Have opened for The Guess Who, Artful Dodger, Lee Greenwood, Tanya Tucker, The Statler Brothers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Sawyer Brown, Marie Osmond, Tammy Wynette and George Jones!
Your musical influences
Definitely The Beatles, Poco, The Eagles, Cream, George Strait and being from Kentucky The band Exile!
What equipment do you use?
1966 Fender Jazz bass. Acoustic 371 amp with Hartke 4 x 10 cabinet.
Anything else?
Glad to be able to play and sing my own music after all these years!
